AT THE MARKET THIS WEEK!

Strawberries, sweet potatoes, turnip greens, radishes, onions, pecans, all types of bedding plants, herbs, cut flowers and house plants, a variety of baked goods and crafts, and more!

 

EXPANDED MARKET ACTIVITIES

Saturday cooking demonstrations featuring local chefs and cooks, Alabama Extension System personnel, market staff and vendors will resume in June. Watch here for further information and details on such popular events as Potato Day, Onion Day, Tomato Sandwich Day and Corn Day. And as always, all cooking demonstration samples are FREE.

 

The Festhalle will also host live entertainment each Saturday. Individuals and musical groups interested in playing at Festhalle Market Platz should contact Manager Jimmy Simms at (256) 590-2003 or send an Email to jsimms@cullmancity.org.

 

Members of the Cullman County Master Gardeners are at the Market the second and last Saturdays of each month to accept soil samples for testing. They will also attempt to answer any questions you may have about lawn and garden care. The Master Gardeners will next be at the Festhalle on Saturday, May 25.

 

SPACE RENTAL

Market spaces are available for $10 a day. For information contact Market Manager Jimmy Simms at (256) 590-2003 or (256) 734-9157 extension 18. Checks should be made payable to: Cullman City Parks and Recreation. If you are interested in securing a space for the season please contact Manager Jimmy Simms.

 

PUBLIC & PRIVATE RENTALS

Festhalle Market Platz is available for public and private rentals throughout the year. Daily rental of the Festhalle is $200. A $50 refundable cleanup deposit is required. For available dates and details contact Jimmy at (256) 590-2003 or send an Email to jsimms@cullmancity.org.

 

SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM VOUCHERS

Senior Nutrition Program Vouchers are accepted at Festhalle Market. For information on how you can qualify for the Senior Nutrition Program vouchers call the Cullman County Commission on Aging Office on Sportsman Lake Road at (256) 734-1241. If you are a vendor and would like to be able to accept vouchers for your produce visit the Alabama Farmers Market Authority website at www.fma.state.al.us.

Directions To Festhalle Market Platz From I-65


Take the 308 Exit (U.S. Hwy. 278 East) into Cullman.

The fourth traffic light (about 2 miles) will bring you to U.S. Highway 31 (Second Avenue). The Chamber Building will be on your right in the middle of town. Take a left on Highway 31 (Second Avenue) and go to the second traffic light (Arnold Street) and take a right just past the AutoZone on your right. Cross the railroad tracks. The train depot will be on your left. Immediately to your right past the railroad tracks is Festhalle Market Platz, at the corner of Arnold Street and First Avenue Northeast.

You can’t miss it! Public parking is available directly across the street (east of the Market) and throughout downtown. Follow the signs!
